Do You Know Fiber Optic Patch Cables? How Do We Use It?

The application range of optical fiber patch cable is wide, so what matters should we pay attention to during the use? First let us understand some basic information and characteristics of fiber optic jumpers.

Optical fiber jumpers can be divided into single-mode and multi-mode.
Single-mode fiber: General fiber jumpers are shown in yellow, connectors and protective sleeves are blue; transmission distance is longer.
Multimode fiber: General fiber jumpers are shown in orange, and some are shown in gray. Connectors and protective sleeves are beige or black; the transmission distance is short.
Optical fiber jumper outer sheath material can be divided into PVC and LSZH (low smoke and halogen-free type)

Low insertion loss
2. High return loss
3. Good repeatability
4. Good interchangeability
5. Good environmental adaptability

Optical fiber jumper products are widely used in: communication room, fiber-to-the-home, local area network, fiber optic sensors, fiber optic communication systems, fiber optic connection transmission equipment, national defense readiness, etc. Suitable for cable television networks, telecommunications networks, computer fiber networks and optical test equipment.

Notes for use:
1. Do not bend or loop the fiber excessively during use. This will increase the attenuation of light during transmission.
2. The transmit and receive wavelengths of the optical modules at both ends of the fiber jumper must be the same, that is, the two ends of the optical fiber must be the same wavelength optical modules.
3. After using the optical fiber jumper, be sure to protect the optical fiber connector with a protective sleeve. Dust and oil will damage the coupling of the optical fiber.
